1 compared on the specs that matter
A float tube (or belly boat) puts you in the water, kicking with fins, hands free to fish. It’s the cheapest, lightest way to fish a lake or a slow river from the water. This page compares every float tube we cover by the specs that separate them: shape, weight capacity, the tube’s own weight, storage and seating.
Shape decides most of it. Round tubes are simple and stable but slow to move; U- and V-shaped tubes are easier to get into and kick along, and sit you higher above the water. Check the capacity against you plus your gear, and look at how much storage there is if you fish long sessions. Keep to calm water: float tubes are for still water and gentle current, not rapids.
Every spec below links to its source. Open a tube to see its downsides and who it’s not for.
